For those of you who have had unseasonably warm weather this week, we have not! We've had real spring weather! Of course, this means lots of rain, but it also means cool evenings (windows open and under the blankets? Perfect!) and mild days. Good stuff.
Olaiya, for reasons unknown to me, became fixated on her Packer jersey this week. She wore it Monday. She wore it Tuesday. And (note below, after a washing) she wore it Wednesday. Tuesday she was all,
Mom, can we play football?
Mom, which sport do the Packers play?
So we did many reps of "Down, set, hike!" with us standing on our walk, her running midway into our yard, turning and catching the ball, and proceeding across the rest of the yard to our neighbor's walk for the touchdown. Mind you, in reality this is all of 10 yards (okay maybe five?), but hey, you gotta start small.
(A conversation with carpooling dad one of the three days...by the way, the only dad of our four preschool-carpool families who's not a Packer fan! What are the odds?! Go neighborhood Midwest!):
Dad: You live in DC! The Packers don't play here. What team plays here?
Olaiya: The Cardinals!
Makin' her mama and papa proud.
*I totally washed the entire outfit - socks included - after Day 2 at Olaiya's insistence that she needed to wear the whole sha-bang again the next day. Really.

And Olaiya says..."BRING IT!" Just try to take that jersey away from me!
At one point during that week, I tried to talk Olaiya out of wearing the Packers jersey for the third day in a row. Tara actually had to defend her. After thinking about it, I'm so ashamed of myself. Bad fan, bad....
So the first picture really threw me off... I was beginning to wonder if Olaiya was channeling a little Anna (read: tomboy.)
So happy to scroll down and see Olaiya rocking the jean skirt. Whew! Way to be Olaiya! (and GO Mama for washing that beaut of an outfit up!)
a-DOR-able! wow - she is so your kid! :) love it. -Liz
